Bid Manager - Senior

Profile A dynamic, MBA qualified funding professional with over 20 years' experience of bid writing / management within Higher Education and the Third Sector. Extensive experience of business development, bid design, partnership facilitation and project management (PRINCE2 Practitioner). Enjoys working within pressured and fast paced environments and facilitating multi-partner, multi-disciplinary collaborative proposals. Specialised in writing winning proposals for UK Research & Innovation funding, European Commission funding (H2020) and UK Government Tenders / Commissioned Services. Key Achievements Generating more than €20m research income from the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, project size ranging from €250k - €6m. Designing and managing a research and enterprise bid submission process increasing bid quality, access to support and raising success rates from 30-40%. Scoping and implementing the centralisation of the research and enterprise project management function at the University of Brighton, resulting in increased funder compliance and retention of specialist project managers. Experience Has worked in a variety of roles in the Higher Education sector including Bid Writer, Project Manager, Business Development Manager, European Funding Manager and most recently Head of Research Development, responsible for managing a team of bid writers and designing processes to maximise rates of success. Experience of the Third Sector both in a professional and voluntary capacity, currently working with charities to develop business and maximise income generation through grants and commissioning.
