Profile A professional bid workstream lead and author, whose expertise covers the breadth of the bid life cycle from pre-qualification to post-bid clarifications. Originally from a sales background, this associate worked at KPMG for eight years, before joining a major transport group. They spent four and a half years responsible for the development and improvement of written submissions in a high value, fast paced and deadline driven environment. Key Achievements Redefining the writing approach so that the organisation was able to better respond to client requirements and developing the authors so that they could write more succinctly, enabling them to get more content into written submissions. This approach secured contracts worth over £2bn in revenue. Experience Developing and writing bid content from storyboards to full bid sections. Identifying key client requirements that can be leveraged to score more highly, and develop bid themes and golden threads. Reviewing and improving bid plans, providing authors with structured feedback on the content, document flow, readability, logic and links into other bid plans. Developing response templates, defining house writing styles, creating style guides, and developing and delivering writing training to authors. Leading and developing a team of three tasked with critically evaluating and improving bid documents during the bid life cycle.
