Bid Manager

Profile An experienced and highly successful Senior Bid Manager with expertise in leading complex and large-scale bids in the Engineering, Pre-Construction, Energy and Professional Services sectors. Proven track record in managing multi-disciplinary teams for technically demanding and diverse bids for both public and private sector clients. Experience includes managing a high volume of bids (20-30 per month) submitted to tight deadlines through to the management of large complex bids of £10m plus in value. Key Achievements Bid Manager for a number of successful shipping and engineering contracts for major wind farm developers including DONG Energy, SSE, Siemens and EON with contract values ranging from £500k to £20m. Bid Manager on numerous successful framework and ad hoc contracts for Central Government and Local Authorities to deliver services for contracts valued between £5m and £30m for High Speed Rail, Edinburgh Tram, Sheffield Supertram, a number of major Highways schemes and various research contracts. Bid Manager and bid team member on a number of contracts to provide payment schemes for Central Government clients including a bid to deliver a one off payment of £5k to 10k Equitable Life Policyholders. Bid and framework manager for a £6.3m national programme of customer satisfaction research with road users for the Highways Agency. Experience Offers strong management, communication and organisational skills which have been used to effectively lead and motivate large bid teams and external partners to win profitable contracts. Expertise in developing and implementing rigorous bid management procedures to ensure the production of timely, accurate and high quality bids which meet client objectives. Excellent writing skills which have successfully been applied to ensure bid documents are clear, accurate and concise while reading as if they have been written by one author when requiring inputs from a range of specialists across different disciplines. Strong verbal presentation and client management skills which have been utilised to lead and deliver numerous successful bid presentations and to provide effective client liaison and relationship management. Managed bid and sales team of 5 staff dealing with a high volume of bids while working to tight deadlines. In this role led a number of winning bids to deliver 10-20 year contracts to provide asset management solutions for a number of key players in the Offshore Wind industry (total value £60m).
