Profile An experienced and successful leader in strategy, business development, bidding, commercial negotiation, innovation and operational transformation. A qualified Chartered Accountant, with extensive experience across multiple sectors in both the Public and Private arena. Particular strengths include analysis and market investigation, team and major project leadership, commercial negotiation, win strategy, team coaching and training. Key Achievements Led Winning bid for £750m Defence contract. Leadership of a team that won over £800m new business in the last 3 years. Consistently delivered operational savings between 10-20%. Developed and written Best Practice Bid Methodology Manual increasing win rate from 20% to 25%. Developed and delivered Best Practice Bid Methodology training to over 250 people. Bid win rate of 50% in last 9 months. Experience Over 20 years' experience of leading bid, operational and commercial teams in multiple sectors. Managed bid budgets of up to £5m and teams of 30 core and 80 members. Widely experienced in the complete business development cycle from shaping and qualification through to transition and service delivery. Particularly adept at constructive review of operational and commercial solutions, risk assessment and final proposals. Has an enviable track record in devising winning strategies and identifying differentiating factors for both the operational and commercial solution. Strong team leadership skills and particularly enjoys coaching and mentoring less experienced members of the team. A good communicator with proven customer / stakeholder management and opportunity capture.
