Profile An expert in bidding and tendering, specialising in competitive formal bids into EU Public Sector organisations. An authority on EU procurement legislation and can bring all these capabilities together to initiate and drive major complex bids through to a successful completion. Assists in optimising the strategic direction of the bid and directing, managing and supporting the bid activity as required. Key Achievements Certified APMP Professional. Led a £300m infrastructure bid in Scotland for an international Construction company through to delivery and coached the bid team through to the presentation. Rescued a £17m bid and supported the company through the resubmission of the bid. Developed the material and trained Kent County Council's Senior Managers working on the £750m Kent Highway Services tender on competitive dialogue techniques, to prepare them for their supplier negotiations. Assisted a major supplier on a strategic high value (approx. £80m) Local Authority bid and several other UK and European based SMEs on specific Local Authority opportunities. Won the contract to introduce processes and approaches for contestability (formal bidding) into the Home Office. Trained National Probation Service staff in every probation area on a range of personally produced specialist courses and simulations to help them tackle contestability and win. Employed as Bid Director for the Lorry Road User Charging bid (£250m), part of the leadership team for the e-Borders bid (£1bn) and several other multi £100m opportunities. Selected by The Guardian News and Media to train its international clients on Public Sector bidding techniques. Experience Over 30 years' experience of leading winning bid teams. Has managed bid budgets of up to £5m and virtual bid teams with over 250 members. Seasoned professional at dealing with and negotiating at CEO Level. This associate has experience of developing and mentoring teams in bid best practice and understanding how to maximise scores in Public Sector competitions. Has a background in high tech solutions and services and a pragmatic approach to bidding based on a combination of business management and hands on experience of winning bids. An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.
