Our client, a leading Facilities Management Company based in Surrey (Near Kingston upon Thames) is looking for a Bid Writer to join their team. The Bid Writer will use their relevant service / product / business knowledge to prepare winning bids whist taking ownership of the end-to-end bid process.

Responsibilities will include introduction and implementation of all necessary bid procedures and processes. This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines and it will require strong people management skills in a dynamic sales environment.

Key Responsibilities
” To manage the bid qualifications process for new opportunities.
” Prepare detailed, precise, compliant and commercially sound bids using input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from Division Directors, Operational Delivery Teams, Compliance, Finance, HR and Legal.
” Ensuring that the bid is accurately tailored to the specifications listed, by liaising with the Client and their representatives, where practicable.
” Preparing and reviewing commercial aspects of the bid, ensuring all services are included in the final price to the customer.
” Compile, edit and proofread commercial proposals which contain technical content and ensure that these are presented in a professional and concise manner.
” Review and revise documents prepared by others and coordinate the preparation of those materials in a completed bid document.
” Determine the scope and timeline of new bids. Lead and coordinate the preparation of the bid ensuring that other contributors provide information on time to the correct standard answering the client’s needs.
” Develop knowledge of the business, its products and services by reading and reviewing previous bid documents and spending time with contributing departments and divisions.
” Risk tracking and management throughout the bid process.
” Management of the Bid Budget.
” Arrange all post bid reviews with customers, post contract award.

Key Skills / Experience:
” A relevant Business Degree; or any related field from an accredited institution is desirable.
” A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a high-pressured bidding environment.
” Proven ability to engage with numerous subject matter experts within an organisation to obtain necessary information.
” Experience in a technical engineering or service delivery business is essential.
” Line management experience is desirable.
” Strategic thinker with the ability to digest and communicate customer needs through best practice approach.
” Able to provide leadership and guidance to less experienced personnel.
