Bid Writer and Content Manager
London, Belfast, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne or Reading

Exciting new opportunity an experienced Bid Writer and Content Manager to join this professional services firm with office across the UK. You will be working with subject matter experts to respond to queries from across the firm. You will also, get involved with coaching others to write better. There’ll be an opportunity to proactively support the training of practice staff on the most effective ways of writing.

Your responsibilities
In this role, the successful candidate will:
• Help teams agree the structure of a proposal document to get the most impact
• Provide guidance to teams and coach them on how to write the proposal, such as brand style, clarity and messaging, use of language, etc
• Draft elements of proposal documents, including cover letters, executive summaries, team and CV information, and firm experience
• Review and amend proposal drafts
• Proofread final documents for grammatical and typographical errors
• Manage the reporting and driving adoption of our proposals content platform and project manage future development
• Respond promptly to proposals content queries and build networks of SMEs across the firm and overseas
• Support the team leader with the onboarding and training of an outsourced pool of suppliers to deliver winning content for the largest and most strategic bids across the firm.

Skills and experience required
• Strong experience in proposal writing is essential
• Experience of working with a content management system would be helpful
• Excellent influencing, strong communication and facilitation skills in order to be credible and be able to challenge management and senior stakeholders
• Strong written and oral communication skills, so that you can work seamlessly with people at all levels, from all parts of the business
• Creativity and innovation, to help you communicate key business messages concisely and effectively
• A proactive ‘can-do’ approach, and a sound commercial awareness and understanding
• Ability to work flexibly in pressurised situations on your own initiative, and with senior partners, to meet tight deadlines
• Organised with good time management skills, so that you can manage competing requests and prioritise accordingly
• Ability to build and manage relationships at a senior level, as you’ll need to change and influence the behaviour of senior people
• Attention to detail and a focus on high quality work
• Ability to switch styles and registers for different projects with different audiences
• Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) accreditation would be advantageous
