Our client, a leading supplier of IT and telecommunications services is recruiting for a Bid Team Leader to join their team in Chippenham. The Bid Team Leader will be required to manage a small team of 3, manage and complete large tender responses to win new business and manage the process from initial request to contract signature ensuring compliance with customer requirements and highlighting company value proposition. They will also be responsible for orchestrating and leading the Opportunity Review Board providing valuable input into each opportunity qualification, win strategies, commercial discussions and solution delivery.
Key responsibilities for this job:
o Drafting, reviewing and managing the delivery of customer bid request materials received including SQQs PQQs, RFIs, RFPs and Tenders.
o Working with the account managers and sales leaders qualifying opportunities within 8 hours of notification within the bid framework and internal approval process.
o Assigning workload including technical resource, commercial resource, service delivery to bid team to ensure efficiency throughout bid life and meet deadlines.
o To review all content to ensure questions are being fully responded to, critiquing content, whether sales, technical, support etc
o Organising, chairing and minuting all kick-off meetings and co-ordinating a win strategy.
o Co-ordinating and chairing review meetings and monitoring progress and assess drafts.
o To be lead point for all questions, points of clarification to and from the clients (In bids scenarios only) ensuring that all questions / points are completed within the tender guidelines.
o Making bid pricing recommendations, in collaboration with Sales, based on relevant data from other bids and available competitive intelligence.
o Management of the bid pipeline to ensure maximum opportunities are available.
o Risk tracking and management throughout the bid process.
o Proofreading and formatting of documentation.
o Assisting with creation of PowerPoint presentations to present to clients at the shortlisted stage of the bid process.
o Train, manage, mentor, and lead direct reports.
o Set personal objectives for direct reports in line with bid strategy to support sales and the wider business growth plans.
o Understand teams’ personal requirements within their role and ensure they are continually learning and adding value.
o Delegate work as appropriate to direct reports.
Knowledge and experience required:
o Must be SC Cleared.
o Experience working as a Tender or Bid Manager within the IT / Telecommunications /Technology sector.
o Proven capability in delivering winning, large complex IT solutions opportunities.
o Experience working in a sale driven environment responding to bids and tenders.
o Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
o Excellent presentation skills.
o Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
o Ability to delegate.
o APMP Qualified – (Preferable, but not essential).
o PRINCE2 2 Qualified (Preferable, but not essential).
