Job Description

Our client, a leading consultancy in the built environment is looking to recruit a Senior Proposal Manager. The core duties include working with business leaders, technical staff and others in the proposals team to lead the shaping of capture planning and the production of the best quality proposals.

You will lead the development of capture plans, win strategies, tender planning, appropriate reviews and response delivery including handover to delivery teams of won opportunities.

Responsibilities Include:
• Applying the work winning process, making sure the inputs of their technical experts and the proposals team are of the highest quality
• Influencing and informing the go / no bid decisions
• Facilitating workshops or forums to bring disciplines together for best of bid solutions
• Early engagement with teams to drive capture planning activities
• Leading the production of high-quality proposals and other collateral ensuring the company’s message and brand is promoted
• Setting up the “winnability” decision making process for each proposal
• Leading kick off, winning and review meetings
• Developing relationships with partners, clients and their procurement teams
• Preparing proposal timelines and produce / communicate / monitor proposal action plan to deliver proposals in structured manner
• Writing and editing text for proposals and pre-qualification questionnaires
• Understanding clients’ needs and working with technical leads to formulate winning solutions
• Coaching and developing colleagues to improve our win rate
• Acting as the point of escalation for bid teams

Skills and Experiences
• Extensive experience of tendering for publicly procured professional services contracts (Environment sector experience preferred but not essential)
• Qualified to degree level in an appropriate subject
• Strong interpersonal skills including line management skills
• Commercial acumen
• A pro-active approach, use initiative and take responsibility for own actions
• Confidence to delegate to all levels, where required
• Knowledge of various IT packages both in-house and Microsoft based
• Demonstrable relevant experience in a similar role
