Commercial Manager – Public Sector

Newly created Commercial Manager role working within the public sector team for a leading IT services and consulting company in London.

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for providing support to the Commercial Director and wider Public Sector Sales team in respect to prospective Tenders and where necessary existing programmes. Working on their own initiative, the role holder will be the commercial contact between the company’s internal businesses and its clients.

Key Responsibilities:
To lead, support and / or carry out the following activities:
• Undertake commercial / contract review of the full suite of contract documents
• Attend commercial meetings as required and respond to commercial actions
• Ensure that deliverables are developed and approved in accordance with company procedures
• Prepare and / or review (as appropriate) other contractual documents (NDAs, Teaming Agreements, sub-contracts etc.)
• Collaborate in the preparation and negotiation of new contracts (as necessary) and amendments to existing contracts and arrange for their approval
• Provide guidance on compliance to terms and conditions, identifying the flow down of such terms and conditions and supporting the assessment of ‘supply chain gap analysis
• Identification of potential liabilities, risks, issues in bid documentation and work with Sales / Legal / Bid Management teams to recommend mitigations
• Interpret, when required, for the benefit of the broader project team, the contracted requirements (including but not limited to terms and conditions and scope of work)
• Maintain contractual records, documentation of key correspondence, status and issue reports etc.

Key Skills / Knowledge:
• Considerable knowledge of UK Government Procurement Procedures and Contracts
• Drafting and negotiation of complex contracts and agreements
• Comprehensive understanding of commercial risks and issues
• Proven track record on successful commercial proposal and preparation and negotiation
• Team player with the ability to make and influence decisions
• Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
• Must be eligible to be Security Cleared to SC Level
