Profile An experienced, personable and proactive Bid Manager, Writer and Editor. Over 12 years' experience winning work, with the last 5 years as Proposal Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, working across all industries and sectors. Provides flexible support throughout the entire bid life-cycle: from bid / no-bid discussion, to shaping key messages, creating and refining the document, pitch rehearsals and post-bid client feedback. Comfortable managing diverse and sometimes difficult stakeholders, building good relationships and getting the job done on time and on budget. Proactive thinker who uses initiative to help teams differentiate their offering and gain competitive advantage, e.g. creating a credentials database and quarterly competitor intelligence updates which were widely credited with helping PwC win work. A positive and easy to work with member of the team, their knowledge and expertise is complemented by an MBA, creating a rigorous and strategic client service. An articulate and intelligent communicator, with an aversion to jargon! Key Achievements Successfully delivered bids worth £multimillions to PwC across all lines of service, with projects including a FTSE100 media company, FTSE250 automotive firm, a Chinese Multinational Telco and many private, private equity and public sector bids across all industries. Doubling an IT firm's client base in two years by improving the sales process and implementing more effective marketing techniques. This included identifying and targeting an untapped sector, resulting in prestigious high-value wins with Hilton, Choice Hotels and Mandarin Oriental. Trebling turnover at a website consultancy in 2 years as their account manager, by successfully creating and implementing a rigorous bid management process, dramatically improving win rates and significantly increasing the company's market share. Experience Over 12 years spent successfully winning work, beginning their career at a small website consultancy before moving to an entrepreneurial IT firm, and spending the last 5 years managing bids at a global firm with a turnover of £36bn and 223,000 staff. Comfortable working on bids of all sizes from large FTSE100 projects and complex international bids across multiple territories, to small private firm and public sector opportunities.
